Trying to Find the 8th Day!!

This is about my work, some of my feelings i wanted 2 vent....

Its been close to 9 months since i joined my office, i knw its not much, but its all i can brag, at least now!!! I would like to share most of the discrepancies n experiences that i find here...

Officially we have a 5 day weeek with 40 working hours total in a week(8 hrs a day, if ur mind doesnt work !!)....but in most of the post-training days, those 40 hours are used up in just the initial 3 days of the week. Not to mention that we most of the times have 2 work our ass off on weekends as well, to meet the deadlines. & the best(!!!) part is, we DO NOT get paid for overtime!! whether u work 40 hrs in d week or 80, u get paid in peanuts!!

There is also this "extremely sensible" (stupid i mean, for those to whom sarcasm is still a foreign language) performance appraisal thing that is responsible for your incentives or salary hike and ur moral n ethics grilled down with truth, and that is generally determined by the supervisors/project managers. There are always the
fair/generous (ignorant) ones as well as the shrewd/unfair (oh-i-am-a-good-manager) ones, so its never an apt system. U'll end up finding the less-deserving guys gettin more salary n incentives then u, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS !!!.

And then, as a modest step we have a one-to-one meeting with the supervisors before their already predecided ratings are brought down to a negotiable level though they arent! No matter how much u yell ur heart out, u are traded as a grain which if falls off, or gets lost, doesnt matter to the owner!!! so all you go through after the meeting is a guilt trip that y dint u folow ur instincts and get up beat the hell outta him !!!

Now, why is the article named 8th day?? Its actually the 8th Day in the week... Ever since i have been assigned a full-time role(owner-ship as they call it!!), i have been struggling to meet the deadlines however hard i might try (after all m human.. knock knock)...At times i seriously have been wishing for an 8th day in the week, to complete my stuff... no no no i mean to sleep n relax. To add to it is the fact is i am working as
a one man army on my field, and if i am stuck, i have only the on-shore (U.S. guys) clients to help me out. The trouble is, due to the timezone difference(and becuz they have a life and they dont work nights as well as days like we Indians (losers) do.. ), they dont appear before 9.30-10 pm and i have to start troubleshooting after
that...sometime upto as late as 2.15 am. Thats the latest i have been to my desk.and then returned @ 10 am the next day to attend a client call!!phew!!!
